How do I register for a course?
The Industrial Safety Training Council (ISTC) is now electronic. Faxed registration forms are no longer accepted for scheduling. All registrations must be submitted online through our Customer Work-center. You must be registered or sponsored by your company or work site in order to register for a site- or company-specific course.
How do I obtain online access?
Fill out the Online Scheduling Agreement and submit the form. Within 24 hours a staff member will notify you via email providing you with your username and password.
How do I pay for courses if I’m a non member?
We accept several different forms of payment cash check money order or credit card .

Do I have to pay for another basic plus or basic plus refresher if I do not pass the course?
Yes, however we provide study materials that can be used to prepare for your safety tests? Visit our ISTC office or click here for a BOP Study Guide. Please Note if a trainee attempts and does not successfully pass an ISTC Basic Plus or Basic plus Refresher a different councils basic will not be transferred until an ISTC basic is successfully passed.
Do you offer classes after hours or in emergency situations?
Yes. We are available 24 hours a day, with training beyond normal business hours. Our policy is that any Contractor or Owner facility requesting emergency or after hours training is required to schedule 20 classes or pay for a minimum of 20 classes. If a company needs a Basic Plus or Basic Plus Refresher they will need to schedule 10 students or pay for a minimum of 10 classes. If an Owner facility is coordinating the training for more than one contractor, the contracting company is not required to complete the After Hours form located here.
What do I do if I have lost my ISTC badge or Custom Company Badge?
Bring any one of the approved identifications along with the cost during normal business hours

ISTC badge - $10.00
Company Custom Badge -$5.00

If a company chooses to pay for the badge and be invoiced the company can log into the Customer Work Center and schedule the 09LB code or the 09CBADGE for the trainee.
What does ISTC accept as acceptable documents of student identification for purposes of training or badge reprint?
All trainees must show proof of any of the following Acceptable documents:
•US Government or State Issued
•Valid Driver License w/Photo (US State issued)
•Valid Identification Card w/Photo (US State issued)
•Valid Passport w/Photo (US Government issued only)
•Valid Renewal document w/expired within 60 days photo Driver License
(Expired license beyond 60 days will not be accepted. Student will have to wait for official license from State prior to taking a course.)
•Valid Renewal document w/expired within 60 days photo Identification Card
(Expired identification card beyond 60 days will not be accepted. Student will have to wait for official identification card from State prior to taking a course.)
•Permanent Residence Card (US Government issued only)
•Valid TWIC Card (must be readable by our TWIC readers)
Note: If TWIC Card is not readable by our TWIC readers students must visit the local TWIC office and order a new card. Students may return to ISTC with the Valid TWIC Renewal document and their unreadable TWIC card and they will be allowed to train.
•Valid TWIC Renewal document w/expired within 60 days TWIC card

Also trainees may be required to show
•Social Security Card
•Any safety badges, including those from other safety council’s
Unfortunately for the student/employee, there will be no exceptions made to this policy by ISTC. The owner will determine any exceptions and the badge will be printed in yellow with the site orientation on the back of the badge.
How do I make a trainees scheduled courses C.O.D?
In the scheduled course window click charge(chg) to toggle the payment option to C.O.D.

Which courses am I allowed to schedule myself for?
A student may only schedule courses within course lists from the following groups located on ISTC website/ Main Site /Course information.

Core Programs
BEST Complex Courses
Other Courses
ARSC Reciprocal Courses
Operator Qualification Courses
Specialized Training Classes
Do trainees scheduled have to show up at the scheduled time I have selected?
Yes. It is the contractors responsibility to inform their employees of dates and times they will be attending ISTC. Training schedules are not rolled over for the next business day. However, if a trainee can not make it for their scheduled time the trainee can be rescheduled with the company's approval if time permits.
I have an existing username and password, how do I add someone new with their own username and password?
Admin users will log into their account via the customer workcenter on www.istc.net Click on XNET Admin then XNET Add User.
Complete the user profile and then click add user.
Once user is added, go to XNET Admin and click on XNET View All Groups.
Click on the group you would like to add the new user too (example – ISTCXNET Scheduling and Background)
Click on the + symbol and select the user name to add to the group.
How do I delete an existing user?
ONLY ADMIN users have the capability to update or remove data. Existing user’s are deleted by clicking the red X. If the ADMIN user is no longer employed with the company a letter on company letterhead is submitted requesting to remove existing users on the account. Once this is processed a new ONLINE SCHEDULING AGREEMENT must be submitted. Submit request to jamikia@istc.net
