A New Era for Contractor Safety Recognition in Southeast Texas

For the first time, ISTC and the Golden Triangle Business Roundtable (GTBR) are joining forces to create a unified Contractor Safety Awards Program, bringing together the strength of both organizations to elevate how safety excellence is recognized across Southeast Texas.

By aligning these programs, ISTC and GTBR are introducing a streamlined application process while continuing to uphold the high standards of excellence both organizations have championed for decades. The result is a stronger, more unified platform to recognize contractors who demonstrate outstanding safety culture, leadership, and field performance.

The program builds on the long-standing success of the GTBR Safety Awards, which recognize contractor performance through a nomination process led by owner companies. Safety Performance Honors require contractors to be nominated by local owner sites for exceptional work in the field. Awards are presented across eleven categories, including Meritorious; Small, Medium, and Large Construction; Small, Medium, and Large Maintenance; Small, Medium, and Large Specialty; and Engineering.

Award recipients will be honored at the 2026 Contractor Safety Awards Banquet, August 20, 2026, at the Beaumont Civic Center. Doors will open at 9 a.m. for the Expo portion of the event, with the Awards Banquet beginning promptly at 11 a.m.

Contractors interested in participating should note that the deadline for submitting applications and required company information is May 4, 2026. Complete details regarding eligibility, award categories, and submission requirements are available in the official program materials.

This unified program represents more than a partnership—it’s a commitment to raising the bar for safety across Southeast Texas. ISTC and GTBR encourage all eligible contractors to participate and be part of this important regional effort to recognize and advance safety performance where it matters most: in the field.
