Advanced ID Scanning Technology Strengthens Security and Workforce Integrity at ISTC

At ISTC, verifying the identity of every trainee is an essential part of maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant workforce.
To support that commitment, every individual who checks in at an ISTC facility has their government-issued identification electronically scanned and authenticated using advanced ID verification technology. The system is capable of reading virtually every form of government-issued identification and quickly determining whether the credential is valid or potentially fraudulent.
This technology provides an important layer of protection for owner companies, contractors, and the workforce by helping ensure that the individual attending training and receiving site credentials is who they claim to be.

Every Trainee. Every Time.
Identity verification is not random; it is part of every trainee’s check-in process.
By electronically scanning each ID, ISTC helps:

  • Verify trainee identity
  • Detect altered or counterfeit identification
  • Reduce the risk of fraudulent site access
  • Support owner company security requirements
  • Protect the integrity of workforce records

Preventing Fraud Before It Reaches the Jobsite

The effectiveness of the technology is demonstrated on a regular basis. On average, ISTC identifies between five and ten fraudulent identification documents each month that may have otherwise gone undetected.

By identifying these fraudulent credentials before training is completed, or site badges are issued, ISTC helps prevent unauthorized individuals from entering industrial facilities and supports a higher standard of workforce security and saves employers time and money by not training duplicitous individuals.

Advanced ID scanning is just one example of how ISTC combines technology, security, and customer service to deliver a safer and more reliable onboarding experience for the industrial community.
